John Roan School Sixth Formers Secure First-Choice University Places Following Outstanding A-Level Results

Sixth Form students at The John Roan School in Greenwich are celebrating today as they receive their A-Level results, with the majority achieving places at their first-choice universities.

This year’s cohort has demonstrated remarkable dedication and academic excellence, securing places at some of the UK’s most prestigious institutions, including Cambridge, Bristol, and Edinburgh.

One of the standout successes includes Milun, who achieved two A*s and an A, and will join Robinson College, Cambridge, to read Geography. Another high achiever, Jake, earned four A*s and is set to attend Imperial College London to study Mechanical Engineering, one of the most competitive courses in the country.

Shristi, a talented artist who recently won a national Art Award as part of United Learning’s Best in Everyone Awards, has secured a place at the University of Edinburgh to pursue a degree in Animation. Meanwhile, Summer has achieved her dream of studying Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bristol, following years of hard work and dedication.

The local mayor joined the celebrations at The John Roan School and congratulated the students on their exceptional achievements and the significant effort they had invested in reaching this milestone.

Principal Cath Smith expressed her pride in the students, stating, “I am extremely pleased for our Sixth Formers celebrating their results today. Our Sixth Form is a particularly cherished and important part of our school community, which has developed significantly recently. It’s wonderful to see the students graduating from it today and celebrating getting into their first-choice universities to join degree courses that will set them up for successful careers.

“It’s always a real pleasure for staff to see students we have taught for many years reach their potential in the Sixth Form and graduate from The John Roan to go to universities and colleges that, when they began here, they would never have imagined they would get into. I would like to congratulate the students and thank all our staff for their combined hard work and commitment.”

The John Roan School continues to support its students in achieving their highest potential, with this year’s A-Level results being a testament to the dedication of both students and staff. As the Sixth Formers embark on the next chapter of their academic journeys, the entire school community wishes them continued success.
