Student Leadership

What is the School Council?

Student voice is very important to us at the John Roan School. The School Council programme was created in order to allow students to have more of a say in the way the school is run. Students who have been elected to become School Council Representatives come together several times an academic term to discuss aspects that they believe make the school a great place to be a part of, but also aspects they might like to change or implement to make the school more reflective of the wishes of its students. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to display leadership and communication skills; it is also an added responsibility, which is why students are democratically elected to become School Council Representatives.

The School Council Vision

The School Council exists to provide a platform for students to express their ideas on how to make the school more representative of its students - therefore student voice is at the heart of all decisions we make and any initiatives taken. The School Council seeks to work with students and staff to make the John Roan School the best it can be.

If you are interested in being part of the School Council, please speak to Ms. Bivolaku.
