The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award helps young people build life-long belief in themselves. The award supports young people to take on their own challenges, follow their passions, and discover talents they never knew they had. When you prove to yourself that you’re ready for anything, nothing can hold you back.
When young people do their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme, they’ll develop the skills and attitudes they need to become more rounded, confident adults. Qualities that colleges, universities and employers are attracted to. A young person pursuing a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, is a young person investing in their future.
Expect to see development in the following areas while working through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme:
‘We offer students the opportunity to undertake the Bronze Award in Years 9 and 12. Students who complete their Bronze Award can undertake the Silver Award in Years 10 or 12. The Gold Award is offered to any students in Year 12 who have completed their Silver Award.
Participant places at Bronze level cost £55, participant places at Silver level cost £70 and participant places at Gold cost £90. This cost includes the participation fee, Welcome Pack and DofE card which grants the participant discounts at selected retail stores. There may be further costs depending on what a participant decides to do for each of their sections: volunteering, physical and skills. We run an inclusive expedition section for participants, therefore the training and provision of most of the equipment required is covered in the initial participation place cost.’
