Parents and carers have the right to appeal against the decision not to offer the child a place at any of the schools applied for. Appeals will be heard by an independent appeals panel in accordance with the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. All appeals must be logged through the Admissions email - admissions@thejohnroanschool.org.uk
Monday 31st March 2025:This is the deadline for lodging Appeals against a decision not to offer a place at your preferred school.
April – June 2025: Appeals will be heard up to 40 school days after the deadline.Appellants will receive at least 10 days notice of their appeal hearing.Decision letters will be sent within 5 school days of the hearing wherever possible.
Late applicants/appeals lodged after Monday 31st March 2025:Appeals will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals – where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
In-Year Appeals will be heard within 30 school days of an appeal being lodged.
